Cement encaustic tiles are very fashionable at the moment and have been for a number of years, however everyone is realizing how susceptible they are to staining and discoloration. We are tile restoration experts and have done many cement tile restoration projects and are second to none when it comes to refurbishing these tiles!

Cement tiles in bathrooms!

Believe me this is a bad idea. I have seen so many bathroom floors with these tiles that have become very unsightly with ugly bleach and drip marks that have damaged the colors in the patterns. I can always make them look better but in some of the worst areas , such as wet room floors where the soaps drip etc. These areas are sometimes not restorable. 

Cement tiles where the white pigment has been bleached by product. This homeowner used an acidic product that eats straight through the color.

Below you can see a bathroom floor that has become very discolored and damaged from acidic detergents that where used in an attempt to clean the tiles. Some of the discoloration is also caused from watermarks and bathroom products that have been left on the tiles.

Please be aware that it is not always possible to remove every blemish in such cases but the cement tiles will always look much much better after restoration done by us!

How do we restore cement tiles?

After allot of testing we will find the process that works the best for your particular problem. We will employ safe detergents and deep cleaning processes along with abrasive pastes and pads. We polish them in many cases to disguise the issues and to close the pours in the cement. After things have been made to look allot better we will seal them with various different types of tile sealers to protect and further enhance their appearance.
