Over the years I have directed clients to the following tile manufacturers for bespoke tiles. There is a brief description on these suppliers and a link to their websites.
For bespoke ceramic tiles, fireplace , bathroom etc
Victorian Ceramics do amazing bespoke ceramic tiles and the quality really is better than tiles you can get off the shelf. The glazes seem deeper and the tiles are just really nice! The tiles are obviously more expensive than normal tiles but they can also be tailored to your requirements. We have used them allot for fireplace hearth tiling, Victorian storm porch wall tiling etc.
For bespoke ceramics and En-caustic Victorian tessellated tiles
Craven Dunnill Jackfield tiles have been around since the Victorian times and they have literally made some of the original tiles you may have in your period property. For example the storm porch wall tiles I restored ( image below). When I removed the tiles for two walls I saw Craven Dunnill Jackfield on the back of them so naturally I called them up to order the replacements for this storm porch tile restoration. The result in the pic on the right is a blend of original tiles and tiles that were made new by these guys.
I have also used this manufacturer for the En-caustic patterned Victorian tiles you find in many hallways. They are the only manufacturer I know that can actually reproduce En caustic tiles
